Scratch that idea

Today was another day of highs and lows. Our 2nd attempt to dredge basalts from a volcanic axis returned no rocks; so that was two “ducks” in a row. Sad faces abounded. Then we dredged a fault scarp just north of the volcanic axis expecting peridotite. Instead, we found our basalts and weird & wonderful they were; with some likely very evolved rocks. After that, we carried on our multi-beam survey and are currently dredging again on “mylonite ridge”.

Oh, did I mention that we recovered Sentry and the wave glider? Once again the Sentry map was amazing.
